The Writers Mingle is a 90-minute activity that serves as a forerunner to the main event which is the African Writers Conference. The reason for this is because, now more than ever, is the time to begin the thread that sparks the fire which lights up the untapped potentialities of African literature with its rich and diverse culture.įor this year, the AWC will hold from the 8 th to 9 th October 2021 in Dar es Salaam. The goal of the conference is to engage a global narrative on the future of the African writer, the state of African literature, and the hope of renaissance. It brings together Writers, Literary Veterans, Book Enthusiasts, Journalists, Policymakers, and the Youth from across Africa.
This conference is rotated among African Countries every year and it targets Writers of African descent living on the continent and in the Diaspora. The African Writers Conference, which is the first of its kind, is an annual event of the Writers Space Africa (WSA) in partnership with the African Writers Development Trust (AWDT).
